Remember when people tied Rover up outside while they shopped? Remember when folks left Scruffy at home when they had a dentist appointment? Remember when you could eat a restaurant meal without dog hair wafting near your food? Now, Fido slobbers through the produce section, sniffs along the first aid aisle and scratches fleas next to somebody’s chicken pad thai.
No, it's not somebody else's problem that they're allergic to dogs. It's YOUR problem. Know why? Because restaurants, hair salons, nail studios, airplanes, and grocery stores were designed for people. Know what they weren't designed for? Dogs with codependent owners.
Seriously, people, if it’s not a service animal, leave it outside where it belongs. Too small and frail to tie up? Leave it untethered - at home. Too hot to sit in the car? Give it air conditioning – at home. Too timid or expensive to be left alone? Hire a babysitter - at home. Can’t bear to be parted? Stay together - at home.
Dogs are awesome and we love them, but they’re still animals. And animals don’t belong in cafes, operating rooms, bakeries, dermatologists, or any number of places we shouldn't welcome creatures that joyfully eat poop.
Looks like somebody just said poop...
